Why am I suffering?

Why am I suffering?
Lord, what is happening?
I do not understand!
Is this what You have planned?

Lord, I’ve been trying to live for You
And I’ve been living out Your word
Lord, I’ve been trying to keep You first
Have You not seen? Have You not heard?

O Lord You know my ways
O Lord You’ve planned my days from the beginning
You are at work in me
To bring me from the grave
So that You might be praised

So Lord I come to You
Pour out my heart to You
The One who’s always good
The One who’s love is sure

I know in Christ You’ve chosen me
To be transformed so I might be
Each day a little more like Him
And for this You’ll use my suffering

I know that my Redeemer liveth
And that He’ll stand upon this earth
And when You have fully tested me
I will come forth as gold!

Why am I suffering?

Our sufferings have a purpose if we belong to Christ. They serve to make us more like Him! In the New Testament Peter writes: "[Trials] have come so that your faith - of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire - may be proved genuine and may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed." Sometimes from the midst of suffering we cry out "why!", thankfully for us there is always an answer...

Journey

Faith is a journey. Faith in Christ is a walk with God that takes the believer along many different roads. A call to start the journey through the message of the Gospel, a response of faith in the One who died on the cross. A journey of joy, love, peace, but at times suffering and trials. Battles with sin and Satan, but always grace to keep us strong and to bring us to our Journey's end; to be with the One who called us to start walking in faith.
